Visiting Hours
General visiting hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. To protect patient and staff safety, all visitors must check in with Security personnel and wear a badge while in the clinical areas. To protect the patient from further infection, visitors should be free from infectious disease. A patient may have two visitors in their room at any one time. Seeing eye dogs are welcome. Specific unit guidelines follow:
ICU
As ICU patients have critical care needs and need lots of rest, visits are generally limited to 10 minutes. Only immediate family and clergy will be permitted. Exceptions may be made at the discretion of the nursing staff. Visiting hours for the ICU are during business hours as posted. Children under the age of 14 are no permitted. All visitors must have no visible signs of contagious diases, or infections. To enter the ICU call the staff using the intercom outside the ICU.
Delivering a Baby
At the mother’s discretion, two support people are allowed to attend the delivery. The support persons may stay as long as the patient is in labor. If the mother is in a LDRP room (labor delivery recovery post partum) four support people may be in the room.
Our Newborn Listings
After the Baby is Born (Post Partum)
Fathers or support persons are welcome all day, and may stay late, but are encouraged to go home to a good night’s rest in the evening. Post Partum patients may not have visitors under the age of 12, except for siblings of the newborn, who must be accompanied by an adult.
Visiting the Baby - Nursery
The preferred place for the family to visit the newborn is in the mother’s room. The family is encouraged to keep the infant at the bedside as long as they desire, sending the baby to the nursery when desired. Children should be screened for illness, hands washed and clean clothes worn before handling the baby.
Only the support person with the identification bracelet matching the mother’s will be allowed into the newborn nursery. The nursery is to have minimal traffic to reduce the risk of infection.
Pediatrics
Pediatric patients may have parents present at all times. Parents will be encouraged to be involved with their child’s care
