EL CENTRO- January 21, 2020 – El Centro Regional Medical Center (ECRMC) today announced it has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Hospital Accreditation by demonstrating continuous compliance with its performance standards. ECRMC was awarded with three additional years of accreditation.

For over 30 years, ECRMC has been accredited by The Joint Commission with continued emphasis on care and compassion. ECRMC is committed to offer you more. More Locations, More Care, More Technology, More Accreditations. ECRMC is more than a hospital.

The Gold Seal of Approval® is a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to providing safe and effective patient care. It means that our organization complies with the highest national standards for safety and quality of care and is committed to continually improving patient care. The Gold Seal of Approval decals are displayed by those hospitals that have achieved the highest levels of care and quality in organizations like ECRMC.

ECRMC underwent a rigorous, unannounced onsite survey on October 22 -25, 2019. During the review, a team of Joint Commission expert surveyors evaluated compliance with hospital standards related to several areas, including emergency management, environment of care, infection prevention and control, leadership, and medication management. Surveyors also conducted onsite observations and interviews.

The Joint Commission has accredited hospitals for more than 60 years. Joint Commission accreditation provides hospitals with the processes needed to improve in a variety of areas from the enhancement of staff education to the improvement of daily business operations. In addition, the accreditation helps hospitals enhance their risk management and risk reduction strategies.

“As a private accreditor, The Joint Commission surveys health care organizations to protect the public by identifying deficiencies in care and working with those organizations to correct them as quickly and sustainably as possible,” says Mark Pelletier, RN, MS, chief operating officer, Accreditation and Certification Operations, and chief nursing executive, The Joint Commission. “We commend ECRMC for its continuous quality improvement efforts in patient safety and quality of care.”

“ECRMC is proud to receive once again, such a prestigious honor from The Joint Commission, the premier health care quality improvement and accrediting body in the nation,” added Dr. Adolphe Edward, chief executive officer, ECRMC. “Receiving this accreditation highlights the exceptional care that our teams provide to our patients, assuring healthcare quality and great outcomes when you visit any of the locations that are managed and run by ECRMC.”
