El Centro Regional Medical Center Names New Chief Nursing Officer

El Centro, CA, December 20. 2022 - El Centro Regional Medical Center (ECRMC) is pleased to announceSuzanne Martinez, RN, BSN, MS, CPHRM as its new chief nursing officer. A long-time member of the ECRMC nursing team. Suzanne brings over 35 years of nursing leadership expertise to her role.

As CNO, Mrs. Martinez will oversee all clinical nursing operations at ECRMC and provide expertise for all clinical departments.

Suzanne obtained her nursing Diploma from the Grace General Hospital School of Nursing in 1986 and completed her Master’s in Nursing Leadership from San Diego State University in 2021.

Suzanne has been with ECRMC since 1990, working as an RN in the Emergency Room for 13 years. Her leadership roles include Director of Adult Inpatient Services, Director of Accreditation and Regulatory Services, Senior Director of Quality and Risk Management, Assistant Chief Nursing Officer for Outpatient Services, Chief Clinical Officer, and Chief Clinical Research Officer.

“We are excited to welcome Suzanne in her new role”, said Scott Phillips, Chief Executive Officer of ECRMC. “She is an inspirational leader with vast experience, her new role will bring insights and ideas, and that combined with her dedication is a great advantage to our community.”

Suzanne will be replacing Tara Mitchell, MSN, who has been at ECRMC for the past fifteen years and served as CNO for the past two years. Tara is leaving the Hospital to join her family in Flagstaff, AZ where her husband Todd has assumed a new position. Tara has been a dedicated leader of and mentor to our nursing staff as well as an important member of the executive management team. On behalf of the nursing and medical staffs as well the Board of Trustees, I want to thank Tara for many years of service. She will be missed.
