El Centro Regional Medical Center Hosted the 2nd Annual Women's Health and Paint Night
El Centro, CA.- October 3, 2019- An event aimed in bringing Breast Cancer
Awareness to Imperial Valley residents took place yesterday at the Community
Education Center in the Imperial Valley Mall. El Centro Regional Medical
Center (ECRMC) hosted the 2nd Annual Women’s Health and Paint Night.
Over 120 attendees enjoyed the sounds of live music, canvas painting and
education on breast cancer risks by guest speaker Dr. Sam Oronan, MD and
his team. Oronan discussed the importance of early detection of breast
cancer. He offered information on breast cancer and treatment options
to the community members.
“ECRMC offers 3D mammography (breast tomosynthesis) for breast cancer
screening. Our 3D mammography system offers exceptionally sharp breast
images and provides more patient comfort. We encourage every woman to
get routine screenings in order to detect and treat cancers as early as
possible.” said Oronan.
Additionally, information on genetics testing for breast cancer was also
made available during the event.
This now annual favorite is organized and hosted in partnership with the
Imperial Valley Cancer Support Center, a non-profit organization that
provides cancer support resources to women, men and children. In support
of their efforts, ECRMC presented a donation of $1,500 that was a result
of a t-shirt fundraiser organized by the ECRMC radiology team and employees.
