Wound Care
State-of-the-Art Care from El Centro Regional Medical Center
A wound that does not heal or becomes infected can lead to serious health complications. If your injury hasn't healed within 30 days, it's considered a chronic wound, and it needs further treatment to promote healing.
At the Wound Healing Center of Imperial Valley, we are equipped with various modern technologies and a highly qualified medical team to help patients heal from chronic wounds. This El Centro Regional Medical Center facility has not only helped countless patients throughout Imperial Valley. The center was also recognized with a 2009 Front Runners Award from National Healing—a U.S. industry authority on clinical wound center standards. For more information on our services, available treatments, and appointments, call us at 760-339-4090.
Do I Need a Wound Specialist?
If you are suffering from a non-healing wound that is getting more painful, changing color, or emitting a foul odor, call your primary care provider. Our staff at the Wound Healing Center of Imperial Valley will collaborate with you and your primary care to devise a treatment plan that addresses both your wound and any other contributing medical concerns.
Check your wound regularly for signs of infection or lack of oxygen, such as:
- Pus leaking from the wound
- Blue or dark discoloration around the wound
- Redness and/or swelling around the wound
- An unusual odor coming from the wound
- The pain that has not decreased
- Unusually warmth around the wound
