How to Prepare for Interventional Radiology Procedures

All special procedures are first scheduled as a consultation so your physician can explain the type of procedure that will be performed, and you can ask questions during your appointment. Once the consultation is completed, the patient will be given an appointment with instructions for their procedure.

Make sure to bring all images pertaining to the area of interest from outside facilities and bring a list of medications. Arrive 30 minutes before your appointment time to register and complete necessary paperwork.

What to Expect

Your procedure will last for about one hour, and you may be taken to recovery following your procedure. Results will be sent to the referring physician within 24 to 48 hours.
