EL CENTRO, CA- November 13, 2020- As efforts continue to combat the coronavirus
pandemic El Centro Regional Medical Center (ECRMC) announced today that
State assistance has arrived to set up a 50-bed temporary facility. The
expansion facility will be strategically located adjacent to the hospital
on the north side of the campus.
Within two weeks, the 50-bed facility will be ready and activated. The
State will be mobilizing the equipment needed and will deploy Teams of
health care professionals needed for the temporary site. The temporary
site’s primary mission will be to care for the non-COVID patients
who need in-patient care.
“We want to assure everyone that we are ready and prepared to take
care of our community,” said Dr. Adolphe Edward, chief executive
officer at ECRMC. “This action, and the continued effort to work
jointly with the State and County Health officials will allow us to respond
quickly to the needs of our patients and the medical care that is needed
in the region,” said Edward.
ECRMC continues to collaborate closely with ICPHD and local officials to
ensure our community members are kept informed on the status of COVID-19
in our County.
