ECRMC Medical Services in Imperial Valley
Effective, Modern Care Provided by El Centro Regional Medical Center
Following surgery, patients often require close monitoring by doctors and
nurses to ensure that they heal, recover, and receive additional care.
At El Centro Regional Medical Center, these patients receive inpatient
care from a dedicated staff of nurses and physicians in the medical surgical
department. This department is split into three different wards—located
on the first and second floors—and house 110 total beds in private
and semi-private rooms. Vigilant, attentive care is provided to patients
recovering from surgery 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
ECRMC Medical Surgical wards are staffed by:
- Nurse assistants
- Unit clerks
What Is a "Hospitalist"?
Many of doctors working in the medical surgical wards are considered "hospitalists."
A hospitalist is a doctor that provides around-the-clock care to patients
admitted to the hospital. These are doctors who respond to emergencies,
help patients access other treatments and resources in the hospital, and
collaborate with the patients' primary care physician to ensure patients
receive the evaluation and care that they need.

- ECRMC asks that visitors limit the number of personal items they bring
with them, as space in some of the rooms is limited. Electronics are prohibited.
- Visitors under 16 years of age are generally not permitted. If there are
special circumstances where you believe younger visitors should be allowed,
please speak to the staff.

or doctors before bringing food items in for patients.
